How to make a Virgin Mojito
To make a Virgin Mojito, build over ice in a highball glass: 1 oz lime, ½ oz simple syrup, 2-4 mint and 5½ oz soda water.
Contains no alcohol as written. If you need to avoid alcohol completely, check labels: some products sold as non-alcoholic, like beers, wines and bitters, can contain small amounts.
You'll need
- Lime1 oz
- Simple syrup½ oz
- Mint2-4
- Soda water5½ oz
Pairs well with: Simple syrup · All syrups
The cocktail version: the Mojito.
Instructions
- 1
Add mint leaves and simple syrup to a highball glass and press gently with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to release the oils and juice.
- 2
Fill the glass with crushed ice.
- 3
Pour in lime juice.
- 4
Top with soda water.
- 5
Give it one gentle stir.
Why build it in the glass? Nothing here needs shaking, and pouring straight in keeps the soda water fizzy.
