How to make a Fruit Cooler

To make a Fruit Cooler, build over ice in a highball glass: 11 oz apple juice, 8 oz strawberries, 1½ oz simple syrup, 1 apple and 33⅓ oz soda water. Garnish with lemon.

Contains no alcohol as written. If you need to avoid alcohol completely, check labels: some products sold as non-alcoholic, like beers, wines and bitters, can contain small amounts.

You'll need

1 drink

Pairs well with: Simple syrup · All syrups

Instructions

  1. 1

Add strawberries, apple and simple syrup to a highball glass and press gently with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to release the juice.

  2. 2

Fill the glass with ice cubes.

  3. 3

    Pour in apple juice.

  4. 4

    Top with soda water.

  5. 5

    Give it one gentle stir.

  6. 6

    Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Why build it in the glass? Nothing here needs shaking, and pouring straight in keeps the soda water fizzy.

No simple syrup? Muddle 2 tbsp sugar in with the strawberries and apple instead.
