Glassware
Mixing glass
A mixing glass is a large, sturdy glass with a pouring lip, used to stir cocktails with ice before straining them.
In practice
Its heavy base keeps it steady while you stir with a barspoon. You don't need a special one: a pint glass or the large half of a shaker works the same way. Strain with a julep or Hawthorne strainer.
