How to make a Smashed Watermelon Margarita
To make a Smashed Watermelon Margarita, shake with ice and strain into a highball glass: 4 oz watermelon, 5 mint, 2⅔ oz grapefruit juice, ½ oz lime and 1½ oz tequila. Garnish with watermelon and mint.

Add watermelon and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker and press gently with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to release the oils and juice.

Add grapefruit juice, lime juice and tequila to the shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice.

Shake hard for 10-15 seconds, until the outside is frosty.

Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice cubes.

Garnish with a watermelon and a mint sprig.
Why shake? Grapefruit juice and lime juice need a hard shake to mix and chill properly.
