How to make a Gin Squirt
To make a Gin Squirt, build over ice in a highball glass: 1½ oz gin, ¼ oz grenadine, ¾ oz simple syrup, 3 oz pineapple, 2 strawberries and 3 oz carbonated water.

Add strawberries, grenadine and simple syrup to a highball glass and press gently with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to mash it.

Fill the glass with ice cubes.

Pour in gin and pineapple.

Top with carbonated water.

Give it one gentle stir.
Why build it in the glass? Nothing here needs shaking, and pouring straight in keeps the carbonated water fizzy.
No simple syrup? Muddle 3 tsp sugar in with the strawberries instead.

What's the difference between a Gin Squirt and a Grass Skirt?
Both use gin, grenadine and pineapple. The Gin Squirt adds simple syrup, strawberries and carbonated water, while the Grass Skirt uses Triple sec. The Gin Squirt is stirred and served in a highball glass; the Grass Skirt is shaken and served in a rocks glass. The Grass Skirt is the stronger of the two.
What can I use instead of grenadine?
Raspberry syrup will work.
Can I make Gin Squirts in a batch?
Yes. For 6 drinks, mix 9 oz gin, 1 oz grenadine, 4½ oz simple syrup and 18 oz pineapple, plus strawberries in a jug and chill it. Top each glass with carbonated water as you serve, so it stays fizzy.
