How to make an Angelica Liqueur

To make an Angelica Liqueur, make ahead, rest, then serve from a highball glass: 1½ oz angelica root, ½ oz almond, 1 cracked allspice, 1 one-inch cinnamon, anise, 1 dash coriander, ½ oz marjoram leaves, 12 oz vodka, 4 oz sugar, 2 oz water, 1 dash food coloring and 1 dash food coloring.

    This is a homemade recipe, not a drink to mix to order: make it ahead.

    Combine angelica root, almond, allspice, cinnamon, anise, coriander, marjoram leaves, vodka, sugar, water, food coloring and food coloring in a clean jar.

    Seal it in a clean jar or bottle and let it rest somewhere cool and dark for at least a week (longer is smoother), shaking it now and then.

    Strain out any solids.

    Serve it chilled, over ice or in cocktails.
