Texas Sling questions
What does a Texas Sling taste like, and is it sweet?
Yes, it's on the sweet side: it's mostly creamy and sweet. It's a strong drink at about 16% ABV once mixed.
How much alcohol is in a Texas Sling?
About 16% ABV after mixing with ice, stronger than wine, lighter than a neat spirit.
What's the difference between a Texas Sling and a Jamaica Kiss?
Both use Kahlua and cream. The Texas Sling adds Irish cream, Amaretto and 151 proof rum, while the Jamaica Kiss uses light rum. Both are blended, but the Texas Sling goes in a wine glass and the Jamaica Kiss in a hurricane glass. The Texas Sling is the stronger of the two.
What can I use instead of amaretto?
Orgeat syrup (no alcohol) or Frangelico will work.
What glass do you serve a Texas Sling in?
A wine glass.
