How to make a Mountain Bramble

To make a Mountain Bramble, shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass: 2 oz gin, ¾ oz lemon juice, ¾ oz simple syrup, blackberries and soda water. Garnish with mint.

    Add blackberries and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker and press gently with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to mash it.

    Add gin and lemon juice to the shaker.

    Fill the shaker with ice.

    Shake hard for 10-15 seconds, until the outside is frosty.

    Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice cubes.

    Give it one gentle stir.

Why shake? Lemon juice needs a hard shake to mix and chill properly.
