How to make a Hot Toddy

To make a Hot Toddy, heat gently and pour into a mug: 1⅔ oz whiskey, ½ oz honey, 1 cinnamon and 2 cloves. Garnish with lemon.

You'll need

1 drink

Pairs well with: Honey · All syrups

Instructions

  1. 1

Warm a mug by filling it with hot water, then empty it.

  2. 2

Add honey, cinnamon, cloves and whiskey, adding the alcohol last so it stays in the drink.

  3. 3

    Stir gently.

  4. 4

    Top up with hot water.

  5. 5

    Stir gently.

  6. 6

    Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Why heat it gently? Boiling dulls the flavors, and adding the alcohol last keeps it from cooking off.
